Robert R. Neumayr, Univ.Ass. Dipl.-Ing. March. AA Dist. (AT, *1972) studied architecture in Vienna and Paris before completing his MArch with distinction at London’s Architectural Association Graduate School Design Research Lab (AADRL).
Besides several years of Vienna-based practice he collaborated with Will Alsop, Zaha Hadid and ocean_uk, working on variously sized projects all over Europe.
Since 2001 he has been researching on responsive environments, interactive architecture, contemporary digital design practice and parametric urbanism. His research and projects have been published and exhibited internationally, most notably at Latent Utopias (Graz, 2002) and the Beijing Biennal (Beijing, 2004), and been awarded the Bronze Medal at the Miami Bienal 2003.
He has been teaching and lecturing in Austria and internationally and currently works and teaches as Assistant Professor in Zaha Hadid's studio at the University of Applied Arts and at the Angewandte's Urban Strategies Postgraduate Program in Vienna. He is co-founder of unsquare architects and holds the position of design director with hoppe architekten, Vienna.
